We're proud to be a landmark
in our Kingsway community
At Royal York Dental we see ourselves as a vital part of our west-end community.
Many of our patients know one another. Some are multi-generational familes, some are neighbors, and some are friends that run into each other here in our office.
We’ve been taking care of many of our patients for well over 20 years. Every day is an opportunity for us to get reacquainted with long-time friends. Isn't that how going to a dental office should feel?
Our team of over 25, is a community in itself. Like our neighborhood, we have quite a diverse mix of cultures and languages on our team. That's how we like it.
"Wall of Fame"
Over the years, we’ve sponsored many local youth sports teams for both hockey and baseball.
Playing some sports can be expensive and our sponsorship has helped offset the cost of equipment and team jerseys. Some of the teams have gone on to play in tournaments outside our country. What a great experience for these young athletes!
We've also run mouthguard clinics for sports teams. Many sports leagues have now made mouthguards mandatory. Custom guards are far more comfortable and effective than the store-bought "boil & bite" versions.
For these mouthguard clinics, the entire team would come in and have impressions taken. We provide fresh pizza while each waits their turn. Making that many guards together has allowed us to drastically reduce the cost per guard.
If you support a team and would like to consider a team sporsguard party, give us a call.
Enjoying the magic - Calling All 3 Year Olds
Each fall we’ve held our own annual event to offer a unique first dental visit for young children.
We encourage parents to bring in their child for a magic show and first ride in our "magic" dental chair. Our hygienists make it fun for the children to see the dental equipment such a "Mr. Thirsty, Miss Sunshine and our Tooth Tickler."
This event has been a huge success over the years, providing many young children with a fun, memorable first dental experience.
Children's dental care should be easy, not an ordeal. Having a good start can make a huge difference. It can be a tremendous relief when your child tells you, “I LOVE going to the dentist!”
If you would like to register your child for this event, give us a call.
Dr. Joe Bulger & friend at Brush-a-Mania
Brush-a-mania is an annual program designed to promote oral health and awareness among young children. Every year in April-May, elementary schools across Toronto participate in this event.
The founder of this event, Dr. Raffy Chouljian, states, "The students track their brushes for the entire month in the classroom and at home in their booklets. Each student receives a toothbrush, Colgate toothpaste and a Brush-a-mania booklet containing activities and games, as well as, a take home chart for them to mark off their daily brushes."
Last Year, over 50,000 children participated. Our team has provided special presentations for this event for numerous years.
The highlight of the day has always been our costumed surprise guest - Mr. Molar. Dr. Joe Bulger states, "The children can get a little rambunctious - which is why you can see Mr. Molar strategically hiding behind me in this photo. As a dentist, I protect teeth of all sizes!"
This large street festival is the highlight of the year for our Kingsway neighborhood. We tend to keep a low profile for this event. With so much fun stuff going on, who wants to think about the dentist?
Ribfest Volunteers - friends lending a helping hand
In past years we've hosted VIPs that included politicians, firemen and police officers. After enjoying our hospitality, some decided to become patients.
The Rotary Club of Etobicoke organizes the Toronto Ribfest held annually on the Canada Day weekend at Centennial Park. Our team has volunteered at this huge event, which is one of our countries largest Canada Day celebrations.
There's plenty of work for volunteers. One of the key roles is working in the beer tents. Rotary member Dr. Joe Bulger states, “The days were hot and those lineups for ribs were long. We spent the entire weekend pouring beer for thirsty people. What a great way to celebrate Canada Day!”

International Service - helping others in need
This is a local charity that provides bedkits for young children in underprivledged areas of the world.
Our team has supported this organization at Christmas. Instead of handing out gifts to each other, we provide the gift of bedkits for young children.

One of the projects of the Rotary Club of Etobicoke was to set up dental equipment to service remote villages near Hualulco, Mexico. Dr. Joe Bulger has volunteered for 2 trips in the past. Read about his Rotary Dental Service adventures.
