Financial Arrangements for Your Dental Care

Handling Your Financials:

credit card payment

 Your Cards Accepted

For your convenience, we accept debit cards,
cheques and most major credit cards.

We run an organized, efficient dental office, and that's one of things people like about us.

We’re organized on financials, because we never want to be stuck hounding you for overdue fees. That sort of thing tends to muck up an otherwise great relationship.

Regarding dental services, we expect payment prior to, or at the time, when your services are rendered.

If you have dental benefits, we’ll certainly help you collect your benefits after treatment is rendered. We simply expect you to pay us directly. We do not accept payment from insurance companies.

You might think that less convenient. We find it imperative to avoid getting caught in the position of chasing people or insurance companies for unpaid fees. We would rather be spending our time taking care of you whenever you visit our office.

If cash flow is a concern for you, we do accept payment with most major credit cards. Many people find it quite convenient to use a credit card. Any dental benefits are reimbursed long before the credit card payment is due.

This method of payment can help you avoid any cash-flow crunch.

“Can’t You Just Bill Me?”

If you had a gourmet meal at a fine restaurant would you be expected to pay for things? Of course you would.

Yet it’s surprising how many people think they can go to a dentist and say “Send me the bill,” or “Can't my insurance pay you for it?”

We base your relationship with us on mutual respect and fairness. Paying for services rendered is an expected part of that.

Payment Plans:

We offer some flexibility in payment but do not provide direct financing or installment options for your dental care.

As healthcare providers, we find it best to stay out of the financial services arena. You’re welcome to check out financing options from lending institutions.

Affordability of Care:

If you’re in a position of financially security and have no concerns about the affordability of dental care, glad to welcome you. Dentistry becomes easier when financial pressure isn't a barrier.

On the other hand, you could be in a tight financial squeeze with so many other expenses to take care of. Children, vacations, payments on a house… The money all seems to disappear so quickly. Many of us are raising familes, and we know how you feel.

Maybe you're eking out a living on a shoestring budget such that even a basic level of dental care might be a big stretch for you. We understand. Times are tougher these days. For some people, dental health can seem an unobtainable luxury rather than a necessity.

Whatever your situation, we want to respect your budget. We want to help you fit appropriate dental care back into your busy life.

“Why Is Dentistry So Expensive?”

Wouldn’t it be nice if dental care involved minimal cost and was such a fun-filled experience people would line up for it.

The reality is that dentistry isn’t a day at the beach or a weekend trip to the spa. And after enduring that dental work, you're expected to take out your wallet and pay darned good money for it.

Having said that, there’s value in paying for hands-on care form a trained professional. Dentistry requires precision and expertise, and you  pay for that.

There’s also tremendous value in having the peace of mind you get from choosing an excellent care provider. You want that feeling of confidence in your future health. That sense of security and reduced risk after choosing a dentist that best fits your needs.

Some people have unrealistic expectations. They want the best, but at a bargain price.

What do you consider a bargain? The lowest price? Something is not much of a bargain if things unravel and you’re left in worse condition.

Be careful of bargains in parachutes, hand-grenades, and health care.

Price becomes less relevant when your health is at stake. What you really want excellent advice and to feel the security of being in experienced hands.

Take a long-term view on this. You’ll make better choices.

Cost-Saving Strategies:

If paying for services is a barrier for you may consider some of the following cost-saving strategies.

  1. Stay healthy. As simple as that sounds, this is by far the best way to minimize your future dental expenses. Taking care of your teeth and gums keeps you out of trouble.
  2. Limit your care. You can reduce your frequency of services. A visit once a year is far better than none at all. You can also limit your services to preventive care and basic restorative. Put a hold on any big-ticket services if you need to.
  3. Avoid dentists. That's like avoiding car mechanics to save money on car maintenance. A risky strategy that may result in severe consequences and higher expenses.
  4. Emergency only. Only seeking care for severe pain. Once again a risky strategy. By the time you’re feeling pain, the situation may have escalated in severity.
  5. Staging care. Get work done gradually. This an excellent means to work within a limited budget. Consider prioritizing care in terms of eliminating or stabilizing potential threats.
  6. Find a bargain. Search for the best deal. You can price shop all you want. There are no guarantees the work you get will be worth the price you paid. And a bargain is never a bargain if the work doesn’t work.
  7. Destination dentistry. You can hop on a plane and try your luck with an overseas dentist. Now you’re rolling the dice on getting a bargain. Except you're adding more risk instead of reducing it. You’ll have no recourse if and when things go sideways afterwards. You’ll be left holding the bag on a mouthful of problems.

Why take extra risk? Trying to save a few dollars sometimes has a way of backfiring on you. Isn't it worth paying a little extra for that no-hassle convenience, proven experience and the security of having full support.
