Our Approach to Care
Healthcare & Leadership
Our oustanding team is our greatest strength. We're a team of leaders, and any one of our team could probably be a star performer in another office. That's because we hold ourselves to such high standards.
Even if others could somehow duplicate all our ideas and philosophies, they'd be hard-pressed to match our dedicated team.
Peter Drucker, one of the greatest business minds of the 20th century, once said, "Excellence never happens by accident. The only things you get by default in any organization are chaos, tension, and low performance. Everything else takes leadership."

People are inherently good and want to be part of something special, to contribute to a worthy endeavour. At Royal York Dental we dare to be different... to hold ourselves to a higher standard and create a model of excellence within our profession.
We work hard and we take our work seriously. Yet, we also like to have fun. You'll notice our playfull approach whenever you visit us. If you're the type that enjoys participating along, we encourage you to join right in.
The best dentistry is often the least amount needed to do the job. Preserving and protecting your teeth is vitally important. The healthiest, strongest teeth are the ones that have never been filled.
If something does need to be done, make it minimally invasive. Preserve as much healthy tooth as possible.

If something has to be done better to do it sooner rather than later, while the problem is still small.
There are 2 sins in dentistry. The first is doing too little - providing an inadequate level of care. The second is doing too much - providing excessive or inappropriate care.
People are always afraid that dentists will overdo things. Maybe that could happen, but from what we've seen over the years, that's hardly ever the case . Most of us dentists are pretty conservative.
The real problem is that most people tend towards doing too little. If something isn't all that noticeable, there's a tendency to let things slide until the situation become more pressing, more urgent. Sometimes that's too late.
Dental conditions tend to be progressive. That means small problems gradually grow into bigger problems. Leaving things until they hurt can be a recipe for disaster.
Delivering an appropriate level of care is the goal. But that can be hard to define. Go to 10 dentists and you might get 10 different opinions.
Ever noticed how traditional healthcare is crisis-driven? Only when something goes wrong, is any care provided. That’s WAY too late.
If you manage your dental health that way, you'll be struggling from crisis to crisis and in the end be left with bad teeth or no teeth and feeling too embarrassed to show your smile…
You don't want to becaome a dental cripple.
On a basic level, dentists are all Tooth Mechanics. If something is broken, they can patch it back up. That’s crisis-level care, and if that’s all you get, you run the risk of eventually losing your teeth.
What you really need from a dentist is leadership on health matters. Someone who can provide you a Vision of Excellence for your health and smile, with a clear plan to get you there and keep you there.
